CYBERJAYA, MALAYSIA — January 17, 2024 — The Center of Garage Malaysia (CoGMY) celebrated its grand opening on January 16th with a host of dignitaries, partners, and startup tenants in attendance.
The event commenced at 10.00 am, attended by 102 guests of various institutions and backgrounds, reflecting the diversity and inclusiveness of the community CoGMY aims to cultivate. Main partners of CoGMY such as Cyberview, Euglena, Real Tech Holding Singapore, and Kobe Life Tech graced the event. In addition, manufacturing partners PICA Manufacturing Solutions, Zull Design, and Micro Precision Machining (MPM), along with community partners like MRANTI, Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), TEGAS, TERAJU, and many others were significant parts of this celebration.
The event was inaugurated by the Managing Director of Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Mr. Abdul Hakim Sahidi. This was followed by a sharing session by the CEO of Acet Innovates Sdn. Bhd., Mr. Ahmad Firdaus Ezani. Associations from CoGMY Manufacturing Partners including Zull Design, PICA Manufacturing Solutions, Euglena, and Kobe Life Tech each shared their integrative visions and collaborations in their presentations.
Highlighting the innovative spirit of CoGMY, startup tenants made impressive presentations showing off their potential. The ten startups from Malaysia and Japan that pitched included AlphaSwift, Aavur, ADA Biotech Sdn. Bhd., Jazro, Biovet Sdn. Bhd., Endo-phyte, Fibercraze, Platinum Bio, CAST, and Sustainable Food Asia, showcasing their innovations and future-ready ideas.
Adding to the list of notable speakers was Aerodyne Group CEO, Mr. Kamarul A. Muhamed shared his aspiration towards the Center of Garage to be the Hub of Deep Tech in Southeast Asia and his interest in collaborating with the startups. It was then followed by Mr. Masato Kaneda, General Manager of Innovative Startups Coordination Department, Mizuho Bank Ltd addressing their thoughts and vision for the Grand Opening of CoGMY. Closing Remarks were delivered with enthusiasm by Dr. Yuko Ueno, Director of Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
Post the speeches, guests were guided on a CoGMY tour led by the CEO of Acet Innovates Sdn. Bhd., Mr. Ahmad Firdaus Ezani, imparting to them the firsthand uniqueness of the newly launched facilities of CoGMY.
